The school organised a day-long Capacity Building Programme on ‘Promoting Mental Health and Wellness among Students’ under the aegis of CBSE on 26 Sep 2026. A recipient of the prestigious CBSE Best Teacher Award, Smt Ruma Dey, PGT (Biology), DPS Dhaligaon (Bongaigaon), graced the programme as the resource person. She was felicitated with a traditional Assamese ‘gamosa’ and a school medallion by Col D K Vishwakarma, Principal. It was followed by lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Lt Col Pinaki Maulik, Vice Principal and Lt Cdr Avnish Sethi, Administrative Officer, were also present on the occasion. During her insightful session, Smt Ruma Dey enlightened the attendees on various aspects of mental health and emotional well-being among students. She elaborated on effective strategies for identifying and addressing emotional and psychological concerns among students and fostering their overall well-being. Besides the faculty members of SSG, three other teachers from Goalpara English School also participated in the programme, making it an enriching platform for professional learning and meaningful exchange of ideas.
