Sainik School Goalpara hosted the Sainik Schools Intra Group ‘E’ Hockey Tournament for the Session 2026–27 from 17 to 20 April 2026. The tournament featured matches in three different categories i.e. U-15 Boys, U-17 Girls and U-17 Boys, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from four Sainik Schools of the North-Eastern region, namely Sainik School Punglwa (Nagaland), Sainik School East Siang (Arunachal Pradesh), Sainik School Chhingchhip (Mizoram) and the host, Sainik School Goalpara (Assam).
Lt Col Pinaki Maulik, Vice Principal, graced the prize distribution ceremony as the Chief Guest. In his address, the Officer lauded the players for displaying exceptional skill, discipline and commendable team spirit throughout the tournament. He felicitated the winners with medals, certificates, and trophies. Lt Cdr Avnish Sethi, Administrative Officer, was also present on the occasion.
In individual accolades, Cadet Lokendra Singh of Sainik School Punglwa was adjudged the ‘Best Goalkeeper’ of U-15 Boys category whereas, Cadet Harshit and Cadet Arshita Francies of Sainik School East Siang were declared the ‘Best Goalkeepers’ of U-17 Boys and U-17 Girls categories respectively. Cadet Kumar Dheeraj and Cadet Priyanshu Raj of Sainik School Goalpara emerged as the ‘Best Players’ of U-15 and U-17 Boys categories respectively. Cadet Kushi Rani of Sainik School East Siang was adjudged the ‘Best Player’ of U-17 Girls category.
Sainik School Goalpara lifted the U-15 Boys championship trophy whereas, Sainik School East Siang clinched the titles in both U-17 Boys and U-17 Girls categories. Sainik School Punglwa was adjudged the Runners-Up in U-15 Boys and U-17 Girls categories. The Runners-Up position in U-17 Boys category was secured by Sainik School Goalpara.
