The School

Sainik School Goalpara, Assam was founded on 12 Nov 1964. It is a residential school for boys and girls, providing Public School Education with an aim to prepare them to join defense Services. The School is located on Goalpara-Matia-Dudhnoi road 18 kms away from Goalpara town.

Aim

The Primary Aim of the School is to prepare cadets academically, physically and psychologically for entry into the National Defence Academy. Character, team spirit, patriotism and a desire to serve the nation with dedication are the qualities sought to be promoted by the School.

Objectives

To remove regional imbalance in the officer cadre of the defence services. To develop qualities of body, mind and character to enable the young boys to become useful citizens of our country. To bring public school education within the reach of common man.

Our Staff

Principal

Col Y S Parmar, SM

An alumnus of APS Dagshai, Allahabad University and Indian Military Academy. The officer was commissioned in the Punjab Regiment (26 Punjab) on 07 Dec 1996.

Officer has served in CI operation as a Company Commander of 22 RR and have tenanted the appointment of G2 (INT) of a Mountain Brigade.

For his exemplary dedication and courage officer has been awarded Sena Medal (Gallantry), Wound Medal and COAS Commendation Card. Officer on being declared a Battle casualty (War Wounded) was transferred to Army Education Corps.

Officer has tenanted the appointment of Col GS Education HQ 2 Corps, HQ 9 Corps and HQ Eastern Command. The officer had also tenanted the appointment of Principal, Sainik School Kunjpura. Under his dynamic leadership, School had won the Raksha Mantri Trophy, for sending maximum Cadets to NDA amongst all the Sainik Schools.

Officers is married to Mrs Shachi Parmar. She is a home maker. Their daughter Mannat Parmar is pursuing her undergraduate course and son Yashvardhan Singh Parmar is in Class IX. The officer assumed the appointment of Principal Sainik School Goalpara on 27 May 22.

Vice Principal

CDR NS CHAUHAN

B. Tech (CSE), M. Tech (CT) IIT Delhi, IWC AWC, Mhow

Cdr NS Chauhan joined the school as Vice Principal on 01 Oct 21. He was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 06 Aug 2006. He has held several prestigious appointments at India and abroad including Instructor at INS Mandovi, Deputy Director at Directorate of Naval Education IHQMoD (Navy), Instructor and IT Officer at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and Indian Navy Training Team Officer at Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), Dhaka, Bangladesh. Officer is a service scholar and have published several research paper in Artificial Intelligence, Image Processing, Cloud Computing and Computer Networking in IEEE at India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore. Officer is specialised in Information Warfare and Computer Technology. He is an alumni of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and Kurukshetra University, Haryana. He is a good golfer and enthusiastic team sports player.

Administrative Officer

LT CDR ANANTHA KRISHNAN K

Lt Cdr Anantha Krishnan K took over as Administrative Officer on 06 Jul 2020. Commissioned into the Indian Navy on 13 Jan 2014.
He had completed his Watchkeeping onboard Missile Corvette at INS Karmuk (2016-17) and was an Executive Officer onboard INS Bangram (2017-19). Prior to joining SSG he was an Officer-in-charge, Sagar Prahari Bal at Diglipur. His qualifications are Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from CMR institute of Technology, Bangalore in addition to PGDM (Operations Management) from NMIMS. He is a keen Basketball player and loves travelling & exploring new places.
